Sculling - New Hampshire Lakes and Rivers
A long and calm body of water is the perfect place for sculling. The Connecticut
River in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont offers just that perfect

There are some mornings or late afternoons when the entire surface of the Connecticut
River is like a mirror. The reflections are only broken by the ripples created when
an oar is dipped into the water.
The Connecticut River is the largest and longest in New England. As the Connecticut
Rivers flows from the lakes of its origin in the north at the Canadian border it
enters what is known as the Upper Valley. This part of the river is a great natural
setting for sculling. In the Upper Valley the Connecticut River winds through the
scenic communities of Norwich and Hanover. Hanover is the home of Dartmouth College
and Dartmouth has an excellent sculling tradition. This is a beautiful stretch of
the Connecticut River and the river is wide and its shores are tree-lined.
