The Chieftain Inn is centrally located to a number of hiking trails. The
diversity of the trails ranges extremely simple terrain to difficult terrain.
The Upper Valley Land Trust and the Upper Valley Trails Alliance maintain
many of the local trails. A group of hiking trails, specifically targeting
children, but are popular and fun to all are the Valley Quest trails. The
Quests lead to our community's treasures: old school houses, waterfalls,
covered bridges, hilltop overlooks, forests and wetlands. Quests can be
found in books and online. Remember to check for clue updates. Complete 20
quests and earn a Valley Quest patch; 50 quests will earn you a hat. No
matter how many you do, questing will help you discover the magic of this
place. I invite you to plan your hiking adventure.
