On-Site Activities ::CanoeingThe Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont offer a wide range of canoeing experiences. It may be escaping to the surface of a glassy lake or canoeing on New England's largest river - The Connecticut River - either way you will be amazed at the natural beauty of the area. There is easy access to many bodies of water for a great canoeing experience and the Chieftain Inn is located in the center of the Connecticut River Upper Valley. The Chieftain Inn is the perfect place to start and end your canoeing experience. Canoes are available free of charge to our guests. Simply launch from our dock or pea stone beach to enjoy the river and scenery for an hour or two. To make a whole day journey, drop off service further up river is available upon reservation for an additional charge. You plan out your trip and direct us.
